A few people I met so far this weekend told me I looked tired, and perhaps this is just the beginning. More work has begun to flow in, with all the random projects and reflections that we have to do. Dont want to sound like a slack or anything, but sometimes I don’t see a point in doing projects and reflections for almost every single thing. The learning value erodes if done on so many occasions, even for the simplest of things. Still, I will press on and complete all these work!

Well the saving grace was definitely meeting up with MABs Darrell and Alvin! =) As always, meeting up with friends can really help soothe the spirits haha. Had a great time catching up with them over lunch and dessert (of lots of ice cream!). Each of us went through rather different experiences since JC, and its great to get together again just like we did every morning. A pity YJ wasn’t there this time though!

Alright, going to continue settling some work for Mids, and then rest well and head back for another week of challenges! :D

For some reason, I like this quote a lot.

Life now is a little bit more stable, having somewhat adapted to the Mids wing, and slowly getting the hang of things here. But something tells me that this will have to be a continual process, given the rate at which changes occur here…

Have also been hearing about some friends who recently made their decisions for their uni education, something which I have unfortunately yet to do. Managed to secure local options in business, but I’m still not sure if that’s what I really want to do, especially given my choice of career. Well, but I guess what I should do now is to apply for those foriegn universities I’ve wanted to go, and pursue an area which I am interested in. =)

It’s a weird feeling, looking back at my last post made 3 and a half months ago, before enlistment into the army. Because where I am now, is somewhere I would never have imagined being in at that point in time.

Now, I am a midshipman. And I am on a 9 month long journey towards being commissioned.

PS. Just wish I had the luxury of time to reflect and pen down my thoughts more frequently. Shall try to do so more from now onwards. Back in BMT, the things I thought and wrote about really helped me to make sense of the many experiences I went through.

Hey! Going to sleep early today because tomorrow’s going to be my enlistment! So adios! Spent my last day of civilian life preparing for army, and just resting. It’s going to be a whole new chapter of life and a brand new experience in there! Dont know what to expect yet, but I guess I’ll find out pretty soon. All the best people! I’ll train hard to protect my fellow countrymen =D Though I wont be back for at least 3 weeks…Wish me luck and see yall! Dont want to think too much at this point, but I’m sorry to those Im leaving behind. Will be back real soon, and SMS me if anything! Will try to reply haha.

PS. Sorry for not being able to produce all the long reflections I’ve been seeing! I’m not always in the mood to write that way. They say that NS changes you, so perhaps the new me, the one who would have gone through this experience, would be the better person to do this.

Really nice and catchy song from Hyuna of 4MINUTE and JS of BEAST! Haha realised I first heard it on MAMA 2011, and now its topping the charts! Happened to watch a news special about this song today, and it mentioned that they changed the moves to a less sexy version because of criticisms from viewers and fans! Lol xD

Again, so much has happened in the past week or so. Right after my birthday was my grandfather’s birthday. Told some of my friends the story of how our birthdays (and I mean my grandfather’s, Jim’s and mine) are actually on the same day, and what happened on the day we were born. A sad story I fail to forget every year I celebrate these birthdays.

Oh and anyway, despite all that, birthday and the Lunar New Year have been really fun! =D It’s always nice to meet relatives you havent met for a long time, and just have a nice chat together over a meal. Great to see everyone on Dad’s side still so close =) As for Mum’s side…frankly quite impossible, but I still treasure those who I actually know.

I really got a lot of pockets of free time during this cny break that I wished I put to better use though, instead of watching tv shows or just sleeping. Because time isnt exactly something I have the luxury of, now that it’s less than a week to enlistment. Time is passing a little too fast for me actually!

Luckily I went out to get some of the things we need for NS today, like toiletries and whatnot, so I guess packing is going pretty well! Met OG mates Darrell, Yingjun, Alvin + Wei Xuan for dinner and something funny happened. YJ and WX were asking me what I went shopping for, and the first thing that came to mind was shampoo. (Particularly because I spent a lot of time looking for a bottle that was actually full, among so many bottles that were at most seven eighth full. Call me cheapskate, but as the consumer I only want value for my money alright!) So back to the convo, they really burst into laughter, and it’s one of those few times when I dont get why ppl are laughing. So after about 10 seconds of laughter (that seemed more like 10 minutes), I finally understood why. Hope you’re faster than me on this! (if you wanna guess, dont read on yet…)

Its because…there’s nothing to shampoo! What hair? LOL. Anyway, had fun talking over dinner with everyone there! =D Great company! And also found another person enlisting together with me! Cool!

Lol, true that.

Ah…these days are really hot! The heat somehow makes me lose focus on whatever Im doing, and I think I woke up with a backache. Haha signs of getting old right after my birthday! Well, I guess we all need to get used to this kind of weather after the cool monsoon is over. (not to mention for army too, lol)

Just finished replying the birthday wishes I got on fb last night. It took me quite some time to get it all done, but I must say, many of the wishes I got, where through sms, fb or otherwise, made me feel warm inside, and just put a smile on my face. Haha, I felt the love! And that’s why I always insist on giving a proper reply and thank-you :)

Im so looking forward to the Chinese New Year now, and getting together with family again. This year’s going to be special cos its the last time meeting them before enlistment, so hope we’ll spend quality time together! Just received the outline for the annual CNY play our family does. Looks like Im getting some small character again. Fine by me. =D

what a cute family.
